iCab Mobile

To open web pages from within other Apps in iCab Mobile instead of opening them in Safari, replace the URL scheme "http" with "web" or "https" with "webs" and let the iOS open the URL. Alternatively replace "http" with "icabmobile" and "https" with "icabmobiles".

The scheme "icabfilter" can be used on web pages to provide filters for the filters manager of iCab Mobile. When the user opens such a link, iCab Mobile will check if the file is a filter and asks the user if he wants to import these filters.

As of iCab Mobile 6.0, the "x-callback-url" is supported, so Apps can add web pages to the Bookmarks and the Reading list, add new Filters and Search Engines, lanuch iCab and immediately present the search window, open web pages in the browser and specify if these should be opened in a new background Tab, a new foreground tab or in the current Tab and if the page should be presented in fullscreen mode or in normal mode. Also downloads can be initiated in iCab Mobile this way. The URL scheme "x-icabmobile" can be used to find out if the installed version of icab Mobile supports the "x-callback-url" protocol.

x-callback-url The URL scheme is compliant to the x-callback-url specification. Visit the x-callback-url website

The "web" and "webs" schemes are defined as a more general scheme for all alternative web browsers for the iOS. See http://www.icab.de/blog/2009/09/12/applink-for-the-iphone/ for more information about this proposal.

The "icabmobile" and "icabmobiles" schemes can be used to specifically target "iCab Mobile"
